Grandparents are the best!

We had so much fun with our grandmas and grandpas in February! Hailey, Papa, and Grandma Dottie enjoyed a special tea party while GrandMarie and Grandpa John spent hours playing in the sand and waves at the beach.

Hunter is 8!

Hunter turned 8 years old January 17. What happened to my baby? He had a birthday party in Utah with his friends before we moved then another cake in California and a day at Disneyland. Several weeks later, in February, he was baptized. Grandma Dottie and Papa, who'd been home from their mission in Germany for four day came as well as GrandMarie and Grandpa John.

First Day of School

We were very fortunate that there were two spots in Myford Elementary for Hunter and Hailey. We were told before we moved the school was full but a spot in each of the necessary grades opened up before the winter vacation. To Hunter's dismay, his school is one of 15 in the district that has a uniform code. He doesn't like the itchy polo shirts. On the upside, he's learned a new and popular game here called "handball." He plays every opportunity he gets.

Looking Back

It is hard to believe we've been in California for 5 months. Sometimes it seems like a short time and other times it feels like forever. The house in Utah sold in April and while we are extremely grateful not to be paying a mortgage AND rent we still miss our "Highland Home" --meaning our family, friends and relationships (and yard). We are making lots of friends in Irvine though, love the weather and diversity and new adventures. Look above to see some pictures from the last few months.
